linen care

Sheeting

Our linens are meant to be enjoyed and will last for years with gentle care. Therefore, the more you use them, the softer and better they will become.  Proper cleaning and storing of your linens will prolong their life.  A quarter size amount of liquid detergent is all you need to use for your sheets and towels.  Too much detergent can cause your bedding and towels to feel stiff with residue.

Machine wash in warm water on gentle cycle with like colors. Do not bleach. Always wash your sheets alone, don't wash with blue jeans or towels or anything that will cause your sheets to pill.  We do not recommend using dryer sheets as they simply artificially coat your linens and you want the natural fibers to breathe.

Pillowcases and shams with embroidery or embellishments can be washed inside out.

Tumble dry on low heat and remove promptly from dryer. You may iron using cotton setting on reverse side.  It is best to iron sheets while they are still slightly damp.  If ironing isn't an option for you, we suggest while the linens are slightly damp spreading them over your bed and smoothing out any wrinkles with your hands.

The Boobie Pillow

The boobie pillow insert and pillowcase may be machine washed in cool water on a delicate cycle. Use a quarter sized amount of mild detergent. Tumble dry low.  We suggest changing your Boobie pillowcase whenever you change your sheets.  We sell extra pillowcases if needed.

Quilted Coverlets

Machine wash in warm water on gentle cycle alone.  Do not overload the washer and dryer.  Do not bleach. Tumble dry on low heat or line dry until slightly damp. Extreme or prolonged heat will cause the fibers to dry out and become stiff.  Steam iron if needed. When quilts are washed they do tend to pucker a bit, but it is part of the charm and experience of owning a quilt or matelasse.

Towels

Towels should be cared for the same way as your bed linens for the most part.  One of the most important things to remember is to always wash towels alone, never with sheets or clothing to avoid pilling.

Machine wash in cold water on gentle cycle with a gentle detergent and only use a quarter size of liquid detergent to avoid stiff uncomfortable towels.  Tumble dry on low heat and never over dry.

Down & Down Alternative

Dry clean or machine wash in cool water on a delicate cycle. Use very small amount (quarter size) of mild detergent. Tumble dry low.  Do not over dry.
